Noticed sign on sidewalk mentioned 8.00 for half pound fresh ground beef burger. Came back around 7:30 and walked in side door. Was surprised to see a diner. Table in front of grill with stools. Sat down and Dave came over dressed professionally. He was helping me about the menu. Ordered the half pounder with fries. The patty was huge . Nice part of sitting in front of grill, it’s entertaining watching Shawn smash the patty. Shawn seemed to have everything under control. Butter on buns then toasted on grill making sure he didn’t burn buns. Other customers ordered and Shawn started getting there orders ready. Watched as he made a couple huge pancakes, shredded hash browns. Perfectly cooked bacon. Omelettes too. Wiping up and cleaning and topping up supplies. My burger was huge made the bun look small. Tasted so good. Crinkle cut fries right out of the frier. Ordered two glasses of beer from the bar. They are separate and u have to pay for beer then your meal. Place was getting busier but Shawn kept up getting meals out and tried to keep up. Dave was serving and helping. Next time I come back will be for chicken fried steak. And hash browns. They looked brown and crunchy. Also going to try the breakfast. One of the better places to eat in Missoula. Nice work Dave and Shawn.

Really good place for breakfast. We sat at the diner counter and watched as our breakfast was made. I highly recommend the cheese omelet, and the breakfast potatoes were amazing!

This was a great find. It’s a bar with a short order restaurant. The employees were the best...fun and friendly. The food was amazing. The historical pictures on the walls were fun to look at as was their rifle display above the bar.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast during our roadtrip. Food took quite awhile to come out. Open kitchen and only one lady cooking away. My partner was served fresh coffee. Typical diner breakfast. We noted the Rye was really good. I ordered corned beef hash and the hash browns extra crispy but only got the Corned beef well done. Not a big deal. Our server was very attentive considering it was his first day! Great job! Other server was also pleasant. Seems like a cool spot. Bar at front and Casino at he back corner. Food in the middle. Pick your poison lol. Nice corner establishment.

The Oxford Cafe in Missoula is a nostalgic treasure that remains true to its roots even after 30 years since my last visit while at U of M. Despite the city's gentrification, this gem stands as a reminder of the past, offering a traditional American breakfast that’s just as wonderful as I remembered. The service is great, and the ambiance takes you back in time with its old bar, traditional bar seating for restaurant, and gambling. Over the bar, a massive display of guns adds to the unique character of the place. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a slice of Missoula's history with a hearty meal and excellent service.

This is the definition of a classic MT bar, restaurant plus keno machines. 30 ribeye paired with 3 cocktail you cannot go wrong! Highly recommend stopping by. The cook was Vee tonight and he did very well cooking the ribeye rare/med-rare. Beth was the bartender, and she is absolutely amazing- personable -funny- down to earth- and makes a very good drink that will.cost you less them 3.. Must stop or go to in missoula MT!!

Incredibly awesome old school bar/diner combo. Right about 150 years & counting! I got the special, which is chicken fried steak eggs & hashbrowns. On point. Cheap & delicious. I also ordered a Greyhound, which was only 3.75. Are you kidding?! If I lived in Missoula I’d be here every day. The vibe is perfect, like you stepped back into the 70s. I love it. Ten stars out of 5. Highly recommended.

Fun local cafe/bar with exceptional food. Interesting man cave decor. Best hamburger I’ve had in years. Good people running the business too.
